York Regional Police have located a missing vulnerable 88-year-old woman from the Town of Newmarket.
Officers with the York Regional Police Search and Rescue Unit located the body of Yogaswary YOHALINGAM and sadly she was deceased. Her death is not considered suspicious.
Yogaswary YOHALINGAM was last seen on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at approximately 6 a.m., when she left her residence, which is located in the area of Leslie Street and St. John’s Sideroad, for a walk. She never returned home.
York Regional Police is seeking public assistance in locating a missing vulnerable 88-year-old woman from the Town of Newmarket.
Yogaswary YOHALINGAM was last seen on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at approximately 6 a.m., when she left her residence, which is located in the area of Leslie Street and St. John’s Sideroad, for a walk. She never returned home. Her family and police are concerned for her wellbeing. Ms. YOHALINGAM is familiar with the area but may appear confused.
A ground search was conducted in the area of the residence yesterday and into the night. The search will resume this morning. A command post will be set up in the area of Memorial Circle and Veterans Way.
York Regional Police are asking residents in the area to check their properties, in particular sheds or other structures where Ms. YOHALINGAM may have taken shelter. Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact police.
