GLENN MARAIS
Glenn Marais is an accomplished singer/songwriter with a Juno nomination. He is also a music educator and a philanthropist who, through his company, Music in Mind, raises funds and awareness for communities locally and internationally.
TESSA BENN-IRELAND
Tessa Benn-Ireland is a recently retired Justice of the Peace who sat on the Bench in Newmarket and Richmond Hill. She co-edited Some Black Women: Profiles of Black Women in Canada and served as the first YRDSB Black school trustee in addition to holding many other influential positions in community organizations.
JACQUELINE BENN-JOHN
Jacqueline Benn-John is the Executive Director of the Women's Support Network of York Region, a PhD candidate in the Department of Social Justice at OISE, a consultant and community engaged educator. She has published on the subjects of decolonization of Black Canadian women and redefining feminist resistance, activism and empowerment from the perspective of Black women.
