Canada Days music festival – planning ahead, getting there and getting around
Canada Days, the free City-produced four-day music and performing arts festival will take place across Toronto this weekend. For the best festival experience, the public is encouraged to plan ahead.
Festival locations
Festivities will take place across the city at:
• Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W. (June 30 to July 3)
• Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Dr. (July 1)
• Humber Bay Park West, 2225 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (July 1)
• Mel Lastman Square, 5100 Yonge St. (July 1)
Planning ahead
The mobile friendly website http://www.toronto.ca/canadadays offers event details including performance schedules and artist information, accessibility information, a TTC Trip Planner, and weekend road closures to make it easier for members of the public to plan their weekend.
Food and beverage
A hospitality area offering food and beverage for purchase will be available at Nathan Phillips Square from June 30 to July 3, and on July 1 at Scarborough Civic Centre, Humber Bay Park West and Mel Lastman Square. Alcoholic beverages will be available for individuals 19 and older. Valid photo ID must be provided.
Accessibility at the festival
The City of Toronto is committed to presenting an accessible event. An accessible viewing area and a sign-language interpreter will be provided at each site. Information on Wheel Trans pick-up and drop-off locations, accessible parking, and dedicated accessible viewing areas at each site is available at http://ow.ly/WInN30cYV8c.
Special TTC services on July 1
In addition to regular service, the TTC will add additional trains on Lines 1, 2 and 3 to assist with crowding on July 1. Several bus/streetcar routes will divert around road closures due to Canada Day events. A shuttle bus service will operate from Old Mill Station to the festivities at Humber Bay Park West. A Wheel-Trans vehicle will be available at Old Mill Station to provide accessible service to and from Jane Station (for the Humber Bay shuttle). Weekend road closures
A series of roads will be closed for the Canada Days festival at Nathan Phillips Square, Humber Bay Park West, Scarborough Civic Centre and Mel Lastman Square. These roads include:
• Bay Street between Dundas Street and Queen Street on June 30, July 2 and July 3 from 9 p.m. to midnight and on July 1 from noon. to 1 a.m.
• Elizabeth Street, Hagerman Street and Albert Street on June 30, July 2 and July 3 from 9 p.m. to midnight and on July 1 from noon to 1 a.m. due to the nightly fireworks display.
• Queen Street from Yonge Street to University Avenue on July 1 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
• Bay Street between Queen Street and Richmond Street on July 1 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
• York Street between Queen Street and Richmond Street (local traffic only) on July 1 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
• Borough Drive between Borough Approach East and Borough Approach West will be closed from June 29 at 8 a.m. to July 2 at 8 a.m.
• The Yonge Street southbound lanes between Park Home Avenue and North York Boulevard on July 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
• The Yonge Street northbound lanes between Elmwood Avenue and Empress Avenue on July 1 from noon to 1 a.m.
• Humber Bay Park Road West (south of Lakeshore Boulevard West) on July 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Additional road closures may be required to manage pedestrian traffic during the events.

Onsite media logistics
Arrangements for artist and spokesperson interviews must be made in advance through the media contact listed below. Members of the media are advised to arrive early to set-up at each site as space is limited. An audio feed will be available at each festival site.
