YRT/Viva going paperless
On July 1, YRT/Viva is going paperless and will no longer sell tickets or paper passes. Customers can purchase their fares using a PRESTO card, YRT/Viva Pay app or cash.
The new mobile payment app, YRT/Viva Pay, allows customers to purchase fares anytime, anywhere, through the convenience of their smartphones. YRT/Viva Pay will be available for free in the App Store and Google Play beginning July 1, 2017.
PRESTO is the electronic fare card option used throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Customers can load money or a monthly transit pass on their PRESTO card. Tap your card on a PRESTO device at the beginning of your journey to pay for your transit ride.
Paper tickets and paper passes will be accepted until the end of 2017.
