Nuit Blanche Toronto returns this weekend for the annual all-night celebration of contemporary art beginning at sunset at 6:58 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 to sunrise on Sunday, October 2. For the best experience at the event, the public is encouraged to plan ahead. Information on getting to, around and home from the event is available at http://nbto.com/ as well as in this news release.

Planning ahead
The website http://nbto.com/ offers an interactive event map and detailed event information, including exhibition locations and project descriptions, making it easy for members of the public to plan their night out. A printed event map is available for pickup from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the main lobby at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Mobile guide and navigating the night
A streamlined version of the website is available on mobile devices to help the public navigate during the night using GPS to find the closest projects. Projects can be found and viewed by location, artist, project or venue. Additional information about the optimized mobile website can be found at https://nbto.com/footer/nuit-mobile.html. Event updates will also be available on Twitter at @nuitblancheTO, #nbTO16 throughout the night.

Exhibition locations
Four exhibition areas transform the city from dusk to dawn:
- "OBLIVION" at Nathan Phillips Square and in City Hall
- "Militant Nostalgia" stretching along John Street and McCaul Street between Dundas Street and Front Street
- "And the Transformation Reveals" spread along Bay Street from Dundas Street to Front Street, and
- "Facing the Sky" along the waterfront between Bay Street and Harbourfront Centre.

Nuit Blanche Toronto Event Centres
Visit an Event Centre during the event. Each Event Centre offers printed event maps, volunteer information ambassadors, washrooms, food vendors and first aid provided by Toronto Paramedic Services. Locations: Nathan Phillips Square (southwest corner), 100 Queen St. W.; Metro Hall, (north laneway at King Street West, north side), 55 John St.; and at 10 Bay St. (between Queens Quay West and Harbour Street).

Project specific apps
Complementary apps to enhance and support three projects: "The Merging", "The Museum of Broken Watches" and "Rainbow Serpent" can be downloaded in advance. Download information can be found on the individual project pages at http://nbto.com/.

Dawn art experience – 4 to 7 a.m. October 2
For those that are more of an early bird rather than a night owl, an introspective art encounter awaits. Art enthusiasts looking to experience the art in a contemplative way while avoiding the crowds can do so between 4 to 7 a.m. on October 2.

Special TTC services
In addition to the regular all-night Blue Night Network service, the TTC is extending all-night subway service on Lines 1 and 2. The Line 1 Yonge-University-Spadina Subway will run all night from Downsview to Finch. Line 2 Bloor-Danforth Subway will run all night from Kipling to Kennedy. The 501 Queen Streetcar will be diverted onto King Street between Shaw Street and Church Street. Free, all-night parking is available at TTC commuter parking lots. More information is available at http://www.ttc.ca/.

Special GO Transit services
Regular GO Train service runs half-hourly on Saturday and Sundays along the Lakeshore line between Aldershot and Oshawa. To accommodate the late-night festivities, GO is running extra trains to and from Union Station. Two extra homebound trains will run along the Lakeshore East and West GO lines in the early hours of October 2. For Hamilton customers, there will be connections to bus Route 18 for the special trains at Aldershot. Special train service will run along the Milton, Kitchener, Barrie and Stouffville lines with one Toronto-bound trip in the early evening of October 1 and one homebound trip in the early hours of October 2. Kitchener line service will run between Georgetown GO and Union with connections to bus service to Kitchener, Guelph and Acton.

For those staying all night, regular scheduled Lakeshore train trips out of Union Station resume October 3 at 6:43 a.m. westbound to Aldershot and at 7:13 a.m. eastbound to Oshawa GO Station. Visithttp://www.gotransit.com/ for schedules.

GO Group Pass
The GO Group Pass allows up to five people (maximum two adults and three youths under the age of 18) unlimited travel in one day between two fare zones. Customers travelling on GO Group Passes are not eligible for discounts on local transit to and from GO stations and terminals. For Nuit Blanche Toronto, GO Group Passes purchased on Saturday October 1 are valid for the extra homebound train trips on Sunday, October 2 until 7 a.m.

Toronto Parking Authority
A list of Green P parking lots located closest to Nuit Blanche Toronto activities is available at http://parking.greenp.com

Union Pearson Express (UP Express)
Union Pearson Express (UP Express) is a dedicated air-rail link connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport and downtown Union Station in just 25 minutes, with stops in the historic Bloor and Weston communities. UP Express trains depart every 15 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., and all stations and trains are fully accessible. The one-way fare from downtown Toronto to Pearson Airport is as low at $9 with a Presto card. There is free Wi-Fi, airline check-in kiosks, personal outlets to charge devices and up-to-the-minute flight information. Visit UP Express to purchase tickets.

Road closures
Partial and full road closures will be in effect due to expected event attendance and to improve free-flowing access to the art projects, giving pedestrians safe and easy access.
As a result, portions of the following streets will be closed to vehicles:
- Queen Street West between Yonge Street and Spadina Avenue from 5 p.m. Saturday, October 1 until 8 a.m. Sunday, October 2.
- Bay Street between Dundas Street West and Queens Quay West starting at noon on Saturday, October 1 until 10 a.m. Sunday, October 2.
