Markham Fire and Emergency Services launched their 2016 recruitment campaign, "Think You Can Fill These Boots?" on Monday, April 4. They have embarked on a five-week campaign in search of between 10 and 20 probationary firefighters to increase the current complement of close to 280 women and men who work in the divisions of Fire Prevention/Public Education, Communications, Training, Mechanicall, Suppression and Adminstration.
Markham Fire and Emergency Services provides services to the community operating nine fire stations, plus one administrative, one mechanical and one training facility. Their mission is, "To provide the highest level of life safety and property protection to those who live, work or play in our community.We will perform in a sensitive and caring manner, through the provision of excellent preventative, educational and emergency services.” Their Vision is, “To become Canada’s best fire service for our Citizens.”
