总理杜鲁多今天宣布35名部长国会秘书、副党鞭和自由党国会副领袖人选名单。多伦多士嘉堡－爱静阁选区国会议员陈家诺被任命为政府国会副领袖。
陈家诺是一位律师，曾担任前省长麦坚迪办公室的幕僚、陈国治担任税务厅长和公民及移民厅长时的幕僚长、省长韦恩过渡团队成员等职务。当选国会议员前在一家动力开发公司任主管原住民和企业事务的副总裁、法律总顾问。他在去年的国会议员补选中当选，今年1月因患鼻咽癌接受治疗战胜病魔，在今年的联邦大选中获得连任。
陈家诺表示，他很荣幸被任命为政府国会副领袖。他说：“这是一个很重要的职位，将确保我们的立法议事日程能在国会中推进。”
各政党的国会领袖会经常一起开会，讨论国会的议事日程，包括议案讨论时间的长短以及何时讨论特殊议题等。
杜鲁多之前任命了男女部长人数对半的内阁，也任命了一些少数族裔背景的部长，但华裔国会议员没有进入内阁。陈家诺获得国会副议长的任命，对华人社区是一个好消息。
在35名部长国会秘书中，士巴丹拿－约克堡选区国会议员魏德方(Adam Vaughan)被任命为总理（政府间事务）国会秘书，士嘉堡－西南选区国会议员、前多伦多警察总长布莱尔则被任命为司法部长国会秘书。
部长国会秘书将协助部长的工作，在部长缺席时代表他们，包括在国会代表部长回答反对党的问题。
部长国会秘书的年薪将是国会议员的167,400元年薪再加16,600元。
