Markham continues to transform its suite of digital customer services for residents with the newly launched online Property Tax eService.
Markham’s Property Tax eService enables residents to view details of their property tax account online and enroll in eBilling to receive an email when their tax bill is ready. These features, combined with the ability to pay a tax bill online through online banking, means residents can now choose to manage their property taxes online, anywhere, at their convenience.
To sign up for Tax eService, residents and business can sign into Markham’s portal and request a tax personal identification number (PIN) to verify their identity. Once they have verified their PIN, residents will be able to see their account status, view their current tax bill, and sign up for eBilling.
“This new feature is a ‘Made in Markham’ software solution and one that is already capturing the attention of other municipalities who use traditional online methods provided by different suppliers, at higher cost”, said Mayor Scarpitti. “Markham is a zero waste municipality and eBilling is just one more feature we are introducing to provide more convenience for our residents and to reduce waste going to landfills.”
Property Tax eService complements over 60 online services available 24/7 on markham.ca. Markham residents and businesses have quickly embraced Markham’s digital services as mobile technology and applications have improved. So far this year Markham has had over 43,500 online services submitted and 4300 users of our mobile app. Usage of our online services is expected to grow even more with these new ways to interact with the city.
Markham’s Property Tax eService is available at markham.ca/etax.
